Swedish Massage
A whole body massage for total relaxation, Swedish massage is the most commonly known type of massage. Good for general aches & pains and as a stress reliever. Lotions and oils are usually used for gentle yet firm massage as you relax on the massage table. Proven to decrease stress, increase blood circulation, and reduce pain. If you've never had a massage, this is a good style of massage to start off with. If you have a specific pain or injury you want addressed exclusively for the entirety of the session, a deep tissue massage is what you're looking for.
Deep Tissue Massage
While Swedish massage treats the whole body in general, deep tissue focuses on specific areas to relieve chronic muscle tension and "knots". More time is spent on specific muscles, and in general more pressure is applied than in Swedish massage. Depending on your body's needs, trigger point therapy, acupressure, and assisted stretching or movement can be implemented to release knots. If you are looking for a massage to help rid you of pain and restore movement of a specific part of your body, deep tissue is the way to go.
Thai Yoga Massage
Nicknamed lazy man's yoga, Thai massage combines assisted stretching with massage for a more dynamic release of tension and fatigue. Instead of laying passively on your back or stomach, in Thai massage the giver moves the receiver into different positions to bring muscles into more ideal positions for massage and stretching. Compression, acupressure, trigger points, and rhythmic movements are utilized to target muscles, soft tissue, an energy lines (sen). You are fully clothed, no oils or lotions are used, and it is done on padded mats on the floor to allow easy movement. If you practice yoga, are an athlete, or just physically active in general, thai massage can be a great way to get a more dynamic massage that alleviates pain and fatigue while increasing flexibility.
Acro Yoga Massage
As Thai massage allows for more dynamic massage and assisting stretching, combining Acro Yoga with it allows even more positions and stretches that include inversions and suspended weightlessness. The flyer receiving the massage is most often passive, meaning you don't need to be an acrobat to experience the benefits. There are many benefits to reversing the effects of gravity, such as spinal traction, increased blood circulation, and a stronger immune system. Acro Yoga massage most often includes Thai yoga massage and partner stretching for dynamic body work that has all the benefits of massage plus stretching and inversions.
Cupping Therapy
Cupping creates a suction on surface of the skin, pulling blood to the area and providing range of benefits, including: improved blood and lymph circulation, pain relief, releases fascial adhesions and scar tissue, and detoxification.
